July 30 – Another Week of Carpentry

Newly Discovered Images

Thanks to member/researcher Ryan Krusell for finding images in the National Archives – Washington D.C. and providing thumbnails of some of the more pertinent images. July 16 – Team Turnover Day

Bear left this morning around 9 with a new team of volunteers and returned to Leland around 2. Pete, Naomi, Pam and Milan plan to be “on island” through Saturday. Returning team

August 27 – Island Shutdown

Langs were picked up this afternoon and dropped off in Leland. The station is closed up for the season  and all closeup procedures followed. All equipment, wagons and solar panel stowed inside, batteries, trash and gas cans off etc.  Buildings locked. Additional projects included painting floor of summer kitchen, cleaning hillside and repairing water pump.

Season Wrap

The buildings are now closed up for the season. Grounds remain open to the public during daylight hours. Thanks to all for a good season.
